Product: Kitchen furniture
Service: Design and Supply
We were delighted to work with developer Pure Haus who are building high quality, energy efficient eco homes certified by the Passivhaus Institute. Replacing crumbling buildings in a rural area in Oakenshaw near Bradford with two near zero-carbon homes, these houses are super insulated and air-tight using renewable energy from solar panels and are warm all year round. Renewable energy extends to the water supply as rain water is harvested in tanks, filtered and delivered to your tap to drink in a purer form than in conventional water supply. The homes are inspired by Scandinavian design and German high precision building principles.
The kitchen design itself mixes our H2 handleless range in a perfect matt finish with a specially ordered oak veneered door to give a minimalist aesthetic. The client particularly wanted a finish in a natural material which matched the timber cladding used elsewhere in the property. Quartz was chosen for the worktops and a recirculating extractor was used as the house already benefited from its own in-built filtration system. The island was a bespoke in-house design and the challenge here was to sit a family of 4 whilst delivering uninterrupted views of the front garden.
Commented David Bradley-Bowles, director of Pure Haus “We chose JT Ellis for the job as we wanted a local company with pedigree and know how in kitchen manufacture and design. And we’re delighted with the result. The finished handleless kitchen has a minimalist Scandi inspired design, combines natural materials like the oak veneer with the island doubling as a cooking zone and sociable seating area for the whole family. We’re looking for more sites in West Yorkshire and look forward to working with JT Ellis again.”
