Kitchen Trends 2025

Kitchen Trends 2025

It’s the time of year when there’s a bit of crystal ball gazing and lots of articles appear for the key kitchen trends that you can expect to see in 2025.

One thing there’s consensus around is the need for environmentally responsible design and investing in something timeless and built to last. So, fleeting fashion statements and fads are definitely out.

Manufacturing durable, hard wearing furniture that lasts has always been the Ellis way so we’ve got this covered but we think that you’ll see the following style directions appearing or gathering momentum in kitchen design throughout 2025.

2---Texture,-texture-everywhere

Texture, texture everywhere

We think texture will be big in kitchen design in 2025.

This could include fluted panels and doors and fluted glazed feature doors which gives you the opportunity to display some of your favourite items and create a real focal point in the kitchen by lighting the cabinet.

Another look which adds texture to a room is slatted wall panels. Available in materials including wood, metal and composite they can create a striking feature wall which enhances the overall design.

3---Being-Bold-With-Colour

Being Bold With Colour

We still expect earthy tones and green to be popular in kitchens throughout 2025 which we have seen for the last few years.  But with Dulux’s colour of the year being True Joy, an uplifting yellow we can see colour being used a bit more bravely as part of personalising the kitchen instead of the muted blank canvas tones.

“Over the last few years we’ve seen a significant trend for green and earthy tones in kitchens as there was a strong need to reconnect with nature and the outdoors.  I think this might now move towards brighter colours and shades such as yellows, reds and pink as people desire that splash of colour and the optimism that a bright tone can create” commented Sarah Cooper, Senior Product Designer at JT Ellis.

4---Collect-and-Display

Collect and Display

We think open shelving in various forms in the kitchen will be a strong theme in 2025.

In smaller kitchens open shelving can make the space feel larger and less cluttered and it makes it easy to access frequently used items and from a budget point of view open shelving can be more affordable than traditional cabinetry.

Open shelving gives you the opportunity to experiment with different arrangements and mix things up a bit when the mood takes you. Open shelving built into an island can be really practical as you never have to stand on tip toes to reach what you’re after!

5---The-Skinny-Shaker

The Skinny Shaker

The Shaker style is the timeless preserve of kitchen design but it continues to be reinvented and tweaked to give a different look.

We think 2025 and beyond will be the time for the Shaker style to flourish with a slimmer stile and rail to create a more modern look.

This is epitomised by the skinny Shaker which offers a more modern design aesthetic and fuses the gap between classic and contemporary styling.

6---The-Pantry

The Pantry

A well designed pantry is now as sought after as a kitchen island and can be used to display lifestyle items such as coffee machines and premium food products whilst keeping kitchen surfaces clutter-free and freeing up extra room for cooking and dining.

And of course the pantry can be designed to complement your kitchen’s style, adding elegance and sophistication.

7---Brass-Hardware

Brass Hardware

We think brass features will be popular for 2025 and add a touch of classic elegance to any kitchen.

Brass comes in various finishes and can be introduced into your kitchen through handles, taps, lighting and accessories and has a genuine timeless appeal.
