Housing Development, Poundbury
A standout project in Britain, Poundbury is a project unlike any other.
Since 2014, we’ve been working with Poundbury’s lead housebuilder, designing, manufacturing and installing 25 – 30 kitchens each year to open market house types.
The History
This is not your standard project.
This scheme's roots date back to the 1980s when King Charles (then Prince of Wales) had a vision to transform land on the edge of Dorchester, under the Duchy of Cornwall.
It's an ambitious project. Since that time, homes have been provided to 6,000 residents. 35% of which has been designated as social housing. Offices, retail, restaurants and even factories have all been created alongside.
It's unlike anything being built elsewhere in Britain.
The Specification
Each kitchen has been designed to match the calibre of the project.
The kitchens feature a variety of layouts and styles. Across the project, we’ve used New England, Brooklyn and S2, with the more premium properties using the Whitstable range.
Most kitchens feature AEG integrated appliances and quartz worktops to suit the character of each property type.
The Result
Ellis has been a trusted supply partner on this development for over a decade. This relationship has extended well beyond Dorset, and we’ve continued working alongside the same developer across multiple sites throughout the South West and beyond.
