Project Scope

By the time Project SLAM came to a close, we had worked on over 100 projects throughout the UK, ranging from Culdrose at Land's End to Lossiemouth near Inverness.

Throughout the course of the project, we manufactured a variety of accommodation types tailored to different ranks and requirements, resulting in a total of 35,000 bed spaces and 3,000 kitchens over a span of 10 years.

Collaboration-&-Partnership

Collaboration & Partnership

Project SLAM wasn't a typical contractor/subcontractor relationship. It was a proper partnership—everyone grafting together with a shared commitment to delivering exceptional accommodation for our armed forces.

This required seamless integration with key trades and cluster leaders including modular specialists, brickwork contractors, roofing teams, and steel manufacturers, alongside a hands-on and collaborative approach.

All working together with onsite leaders and project directors as a unified team to ensure smooth coordination across all phases of delivery.

Room-Specifications

Room Specifications

This project accommodated three distinct accommodation scales:

  • X Scale – 12-person dormitory-style rooms

  • Y Scale – 4-person shared rooms

  • Z Scale – Single living quarters

  • JNCO Scale

  • SNCO Scale

  • JO Scale

Each layout was carefully designed to meet the lifestyle and operational needs of service personnel at different ranks. This resulted in us providing a wide variety of bedroom furniture including wardrobes, wall-mounted bookcases, hessian pinboards, desks, beds, and headboards.

Our-Furniture

Our Furniture

The furniture we supplied was from our Solo bedrooms range (a predecessor to Focus) and Brompton for kitchens (now equivalent to our S1 range), with all furniture coming with a 7-year contracted warranty.

Rigorous quality checks were performed at every stage to maintain the highest standards.

Project-SLAM

Project SLAM

Project SLAM remains one of our most significant achievements. We were able to manufacture 3,000 bed spaces per year at peak delivery and were awarded various Land Lease awards for quality and performance.

The project is a true testament to what can be accomplished through partnership, quality craftsmanship, and a shared commitment to supporting those who serve.
