Sanctuary Students Dundee West Park Villas
We were briefed to fully refurbish 160 student bedrooms which had the original bespoke joinery from 1996 with the layout of every room being slightly different.
Project challenges
Each of the 160 bedrooms was slightly different
The 28 year old bespoke joinery was looking very tired
The services were heavily integrated into the joinery
To deliver a bedroom furniture solution that looks great but will last another 20 plus years
Deliver the full refurbishment in 8 weeks
Project Solutions
A single design solution was designed with 4 widths of tall bookcase; which made every room look just right and added much needed shelving to the layout also allowing residents to personalize their bedrooms
Plenty of electrical and data sockets were installed into the desk area
A matching Grey Beige Lorenzo Oak cabinet finish and high pressure laminate 38mm worktop was used for a sleek and integrated solution with pebble grey fronts
Glass noticeboards either side of the desk area has turned this area into a lovely ‘light box’
The bed selected is from our 450mm high ‘box bed’ range – which provides plenty of easily accessible storage, a nice elevated position for looking out of the window and low carbon footprint
Our bathroom furniture was even specified in the ensuites with a 15mm solid acrylic top for a top notch aesthetic and longevity
“Our challenge was to completely refurbish the original 160 bedrooms at West Park Villa. I think we delivered a scheme that was just right, combining stylish, long lasting bedroom furniture with high levels of practicality which students need. The finishing touch was our bathroom furniture in the ensuites.”
