What responsibilities does your role include?

As Production Planner, I manage the day-to-day and weekly production schedules for the factory, ensuring material availability to support efficient manufacturing operations and meet customer requirements. I also maintain accurate records of installation costs for each plot, supporting cost control and reporting processes.

What’s a typical day like for you?

Hectic, I make a plan every morning heading to work of what needs doing for the day and it goes out the window within a hour.

What's the part of your job you enjoy most?

Would anyone believe me if I said I enjoy all the parts of my Job, its keeps me on my toes and challenges me every day

What’s a project / product design you’re really proud of?

I am proud of all the product we produce here at Ellis, we have a varied range to suit all budgets

How has J.T. Ellis grown or changed since you’ve been with the company?

There has been significant growth and change since I started working at JT Ellis. One of the most notable developments has been the investment in the new Batch Size One machine, which has transformed the way we manufacture our products. By moving from traditional batch processing to a single-piece flow system, Ellis has been able to streamline manufacturing processes, improve efficiency, and enhance productivity.

In addition, we have successfully reintroduced our apprenticeship programme in partnership with Kirklees College, helping to develop the next generation of skilled workers. We have also welcomed students from local high schools for work experience placements, providing valuable opportunities for young people to gain insight into the manufacturing industry and supporting stronger links with our local community.

What do you most like about working for J.T. Ellis?

The people, from the Board to the shop floor staff, we all work together to get the job done, while having a laugh and joke as we go

What would your colleagues say about you?

I would like to think they would say I am helpful, approachable, and always smiling, ready to go the extra mile

Do you have a secret Talent?

I wish i did, but sadly no I don't have one

What was your first job?

my first Job was a receptionist for a chartered accountants, I was 16 and only lasted 8 months

What is your favourite film?

my favourite film is Labyrinth

What's your favourite food?

A home cooked Sunday Roast with all the trimmings

What do you do when you're not at work?

spend time with my family, go out with friends and read as much as I can.
