We recently caught up with Stephen Grundy, our National Installation Manager, who's been with J.T. Ellis for 2 years now and has made a real difference to how we work.
Q) How long have you been working for J.T. Ellis?
A) 2 years
Q) What responsibilities does your role include?
A) I manage our external service and installation for customers, ensuring we provide a good product.
Q) What’s a typical day like for you?
A) I know a lot of people say this, but I truly mean it, no two days are the same, and no two customers' needs are identical. I travel all over the country, one day I'm in Edinburgh, and the next I'm in Manchester. It's what I love about the job.
Q) How has your role evolved since you joined J.T. Ellis?
A) I've transitioned from being a northern senior installations manager to a national installation manager. My role has evolved into a dedicated national service manager for our contract and high-rise projects for our customers.
Q) How has J.T. Ellis grown or changed since you’ve been with the company?
A) We are now solely focused on service, not just in the industry of fitting kitchens anymore. Our customers expect the full package. They want communication with us, meeting their needs, not a one-size-fits-all approach.
Q) What’s a project / product design you’re really proud of?
A) The standard of the housebuild side of the company is at. The quality of the service has significantly improved.
Q) What do you most like about working for J.T. Ellis?
A) If something needs to change it does.
Q) If you weren't doing your current job what would you like to be?
A) I would like to be a golfer
Q) What was your first job?
A) Stacking shelves at homebase... I was rubbish at it
Q) What is your favourite film?
A) The Shawshank Redemption
Q) What's your favourite food?
A) Curry
Q) Do you have any interesting hobbies?
A) I play squash, badminton, and paddle, and I go to the gym twice a week. I really enjoy live sports!
